WebJan 7, 2016 · The lube oil pressure regulator (which is on the block side of the filter adapter) parts like to fall out on the old style adapters when the adapter is removed. If it did, it will not build oil pressure. The filter bypass valve was staked in on the old style adapters like to fall out too, but they will just cause the oil not to be filtered as well.
