The 2005 Tundra in the same configuration as the 1/2 ton Chevy has a payload rating of 1790lbs. This would equate to a 7/8ton in the old system. WebI actually think 3/4 ton diesels don't make any sense given how bad the payload is (like less than 2000lbs). That said on the 1-ton SRW, the 7.3L tow capacity is limited by the motor. With the 6.7L, tow capacity is limited on other factors - meaning the 6.7L will handle max tow on non-flat terrain much better.

WebOct 5, 2020 · The Ram drives and towes like a dream. Whish I would have went this way a long time ago. I have owned Toyota trucks for the last 25 years. Great trucks but if your towing anything bigger then a 24 foot trailer look at a bigger truck. 3/4 tons seems like a waste of time as the 1 tons are not that much more and towing capacities are much larger.
